Michael Vaughan, a former captain of England, believes that Ruturaj Gaikwad must find it difficult to lead the Chennai Super Kings while Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a legendary player, is still present in the locker room. Gaikwad’s time as captain of CSK started with back-to-back wins, but soon fizzled down with a string of defeats. Vaughan speculated that with the great Dhoni still representing them in the dressing room, it might have been challenging for Gaikwad to take charge and lead the five-time champions.

“He has taken over from a God. This situation is like Sir Alex Ferguson is still in the dressing room when the new manager comes in. MS Dhoni is still there. It must be so hard. It is difficult to captain MS but I think it is MS who took that decision to step aside,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz.
The renowned wicketkeeper has been observed assisting the young batter this season in setting up the fields and other things after giving Gaikwad the captaincy.
