The ‘future is bright’ for Shubman Gill. Astrologer Greenstone Lobo has predicted that the young Indian opener will become Team India’s captain in the future.
In Lobo’s series, ‘StarPlay: Cricket & Astrology’ for TOI Sports, Lobo offered a detailed astrological insight into Gill’s career and what it could mean for the India vice-captain’s future.
Astrologer predicts opener’s future
It has been observed that the management also sees a future in Shubman Gill and wants him to perform well and lead the team. The 25-year-old is the vice-captain for the ICC Champions Trophy.
“Gill was born in the late 90s and September born. He has a very powerful horoscope. So obviously you know him being a vice captain’s choice or maybe even in future a captain’s choice is justified in some way.”
However, the Astrologer had a warning that he should not be made captain now but wait for a right time.
“Do we have options? Yes, we have some very good options. We have KL Rahul born in 1992 with a phenomenal horoscope. We have Hardik Pandya, we have Jasprit Bumrah, both of them born in 1993. And we also have Shreyas Iyer born in 1994. All of them have extremely powerful shards and they have the capacity to take it forward when we already have like four captaincy material, you know, who have a higher chance of bringing us a World cup then making Shubman Gill the captain is not right at this point of time.

Gill has been a captain of Gujarat Titans, though his record in IPL 2024 was disappointing with his team struggling the season. In the upcoming season, he will be captaining GT and would like to show that he ,has a good captaincy skills.
