After winning the Champions Trophy with India last week, now star batter Shubman Gill has achieved a personal feat on his name from the ICC. The 25-year-old has won the player of the month award for February 2025. He has bagged the prestigious award, surpassing competitors like Australia’s Steve Smith and New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips. In five one-day internationals during the month, Gill scored an impressive 406 runs. He averaged 101.50 with a strike rate of 94.19 and has earned the award.
With winning this award, he has become the first Indian to win the player of the month award for the third time. Earlier, along with him, only Jasprit Bumrah had won it twice.

Gill had an exceptional series in the 3-0 victory over England. He started with a solid 87 in Nagpur and continued his form with a 60 in Cuttack. He wrapped up the series in Ahmedabad, hitting a spectacular century. His innings of 112 included 14 fours and three sixes from just 102 balls. For his outstanding performance, Gill was named Player of the Match and also received the Player of the Series award.
Continuing success in the Champions Trophy
Carrying his form into the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Gill started the tournament with an unbeaten 101 against Bangladesh in Dubai, guiding India to a successful chase.
