Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan Buy Dark Chocolates at Trinidad Airport, Watch

Both Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan are expected to be in the playing XI for the second Test match against West Indies.

Young batters Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan were recently spotted at the airport in Trinidad. The duo also went on to purchase some dark chocolates from a store at the airport. To note, team India has reached Trinidad to face the home team in the second Test match. The match will start from July 20 onwards with India having a lead of 1-0 in a two-match series.

India won the first Test against the West Indies by an innings and 141 runs but Gill’s first game as No. 3, replacing the dogged Cheteshwar Pujara, didn’t start well. He was out for only 6 in India’s only innings as skipper Rohit Sharma and debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal struck hundreds and Virat Kohli contributed 76.

“Three openers were supposed to play, so one had to go at No. 3 and the proposal came from Shubman’s end as his rationale was that he had played all his cricket for Punjab and India A at either No. 3 or 4 and that’s his real slot in longer format is that,” Batting Coach Vikram Rathour said during a press conference.

Meanwhile, Kishan did not had much of a say in the first match as he his first run before India decided to declare the innings. Kishan had a decent outing behind the wickets as well. The Southpaw is expected to retain his place in the second Test encounter and will want to prove a point with the bat.
