Gujarat Titans (GT) have modelled themselves in the same group as the likes of Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). While they are nowhere near in terms of tasting success like MI and CSK, GT have created what they call “family.” You see different players turning up at different stages, and management and individuals have credited the ‘team environment’ all the time. The culture the franchise has created in a short amount of time is truly phenomenal. Shubman Gill, who captained the side in IPL 2024, now has a brand new squad following the IPL2025 mega auction.
GT at IPL 2025: Ishant Sharma, Anuj Rawat in red-hot forms
Incredibly for the Gujarat Titans (GT), most of their talents are performing quite well, especially in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT). Almost every player on their IPL 2025 roster is staking their claim, dishing out consistent performance, match after match. Talk about Ishant Sharma, who was picked up at his base price of Rs 75 lac. At 36, Ishant is showing no signs of slowing down, taking 10 wickets at an incredible economy of 7.16 and at a great bowling SR of 12.00 at the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). In Delhi’s Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) match against Kerala, Ishant won his side the game by taking 3/48.
Another of Delhi’s talents picked up by GT is Anuj Rawat. The former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) keeper is having a ball in domestic cricket. In SMAT, Rawat scored 73 off 33 in a quarter-final game against a strong UP side before finishing the tournament with 192 runs at an average of 48.00. Today, he top-scored with 58, taking his VHT tally to 225 at a superb SR of 93.75.
GT at IPL 2025: Mahipal Lomror to play a major part
Another ex-RCB player, Mahipal Lomror, is expected to be a major part for GT now. Their middle order is a concern for them and Lomror’s left-handedness and power are expected to play a major part. Luckily for GT, the southpaw is in great touch. Playing for Rajasthan, Lomror has been perfect. In the ongoing VHT, he has hammered 213 in 4 innings at an average and SR of 71.00 and 103.90. Not too long ago, Lomror smacked a magical triple century. In total, Lomror has made 529 runs at an average of 105.80 in the Ranji Trophy.
Meanwhile, another GT finisher, Shahrukh Khan, smashed a superb ton. Playing for Tamil Nadu, the Rs 4 crore retention hammered 132 off 85 against a superb bowling attack of UP that included Yash Dayal, Shivam Mavi, and Saurabh Kumar.
