India vs England 2nd Test, Day 2: England’s Zak Crawley got a second life and made the most of it, taking Jasprit Bumrah to the cleaners for a record-equalling 16 runs in a single over on Day 2 of the 2nd Test against India.
Zak Crawley, dropped by Shubman Gill at short midwicket off Ravichandran Ashwin just after lunch, unleashed his aggressive instincts against Bumrah in the very next over. Though the first boundary was a lucky edge, Crawley followed it up with a dismissive pull and two powerful drives, leaving the Indian pacer’s figures dented.

This wasn’t the start India had hoped for after restricting England to 32/0 in the first six overs. Earlier, openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett came out positively, taking 32 runs off the first six overs. Duckett, in particular, was in imperious form, smashing three boundaries off Mukesh Kumar’s second over.
England’s aggressive approach countered India’s disciplined bowling before lunch. While Kuldeep Yadav got some turn with his wrist-spin, the visitors dominated the morning session both with bat and ball.
Zak Crawley dropped catch and subsequent onslaught have put England in a strong position. Whether India can bounce back and restrict the damage remains to be seen, but the dropped chance could prove costly as Crawley looks determined to capitalize on his reprieve.
