Shreyas Iyer failed to play domestic matches despite being asked to. Both he and Ishan Kishan didn’t get their central contract. But Iyer continued his heroics and guided Kolkata Knight Riders to lift the IPL 2024 title.
And now in the Guatam Gambhir era, Iyer received a call back in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. And the India Cricket Team star gets his much awaited call up for the IND vs SL 1st ODI.

Shreyas Iyer was in the center of attention after failing to play domestic matches. He complained of a back injury but was medically cleared by the NCA. As a result, the BCCI didn’t take the matter kindly. Though he played a couple of matches in Ranji Trophy, he found his name snubbed from the Central Contract list.
