Shreyas Iyer Injury Update: India vs Australia LIVE – Good news for Team India as Shreyas Iyer is close to completing recovery from back injury. Iyer missed out on the Nagpur Test against Australia. But as per BCCI sources, Iyer is likely to be back for the Delhi Test starting Feb 17. However, it’s not so good news for Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid as they have to once again deliberate on the middle-order options. India handed Test debut to Suryakumar Yadav at No 5, dropping Shubman Gill for 1st Test. Follow IND vs AUS LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

“His prognosis is good. He has started outdoor training. He will return to the nets sometime this week. Hopefully, he will be able to join the team in Delhi. But it will be depending on his fitness test,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.
Iyer was a confirmed starter for Team India at No 5 having scored the most runs for India in Tests in 2022. However, his back injury and Rishabh Pant’s accident forced the team management to rethink strategies.
The middle-order batter is currently at the NCA and going through a rehabilitation routine. However, after almost two weeks, he has finally begun outdoor training.
Suryakumar Yadav Test Debut: With Shreyas and Rishabh both out, Rohit Sharma has handed SKY his Test debut. While Shubman Gill was the ideal choice, the team management wants an attacking option in the middle order in absence of Pant. Hence, Surya has become the only Indian player to make debut in all three formats after turning 30.
