Although the Champions Trophy is a year away, the talks of it have already taken the stage. There is a constant buzz surrounding whether or not India should travel to Pakistan for the game, with PCB bagging the hosting rights. The last time Team India travelled to Pakistan, was in 2008, and since then have refused to maintain bilateral ties with the neighbours owing to the geopolitical tension between the two nations.

BCCI share update on Champions Trophy
The Champions Trophy 2025 may still be a year away, but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is already making ambitious plans for the event. With an ICC tournament returning to Pakistan for the first time since 1996, the anticipation is understandably high. The PCB has even proposed Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore as the venue for the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan clash.
However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appears cautious. According to a recent statement by BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla, it is too early to make definitive plans. Speaking to ANI, Shukla emphasized, “In the case of the Champion Trophy, we will do whatever the Government of India will tell us to do. We send our team only when the Government of India gives us permission. So we will go according to the decision of the Indian government.”
