Indian hammer throw specialist Rachna Kumari has tested positive for a dope test conducted by the International Federation’s Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) just before the event and has been provisionally suspended, as per a report in PTI. The report further suggests that Kumari’s sample contained steroids Stanozolol, Metandienone and Dehydrochloromethyltestosterone (DHCMT).

Meanwhile, Kumari is not a first-time offended. She was handed a four-year ban back in 2015 by NADA after testing positive for Methenolone. If found guilty once again, she could face a ban of eight years.

Asian Games Participant Rachna Kumari’s Version

It is learned that Kumari had given the out-of-competition samples in Patiala on September 24. “I have not got any information that I have failed dope test, though I had given my urine sample on September 24 in Patiala,” she told PTI from her home in Uttar Pradesh. An AFI official too confirmed the reports of Kumari failing the dope test.

“It is not a NADA (National Anti-Doping Agency) case but of AIU, so I don’t know the details,” the official said.
