Shoaib Malik under match-fixing scanner, BPL contract terminated, know why?

Fortune Barishal, has terminated the contract of Shoaib Malik over suspicions of fixing during their match against Khulna Riders.

Fortune Barishal has terminated the contract of Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik, citing suspicions of “fixing.” The decision comes after a match between Fortune Barishal and Khulna Riders on January 22 at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. Barishal’s captain, Tamim Iqbal, opted to introduce Shoaib Malik as a bowler during the powerplay.

However, Malik’s performance fell short of expectations, as he surprisingly bowled three no-balls in the over, conceding 18 runs. This raised significant suspicions about the integrity of the match. Shoaib Malik, who recently celebrated his third marriage with Pakistani actor Sana Javed, faced online trolling due to his subpar bowling and questionable no-balls.

Fortune Barishal’s owner, Mizanur Rahman, took swift action and terminated Shoaib Malik’s contract on suspicion of fixing, effectively removing him from the league.

The decision comes amidst the team’s mixed performance in the tournament, having won one and lost two matches, leaving them in the second-to-last position on the points table.

This incident adds an element of controversy to the cricket league, emphasizing the need for vigilance against potential match-fixing activities, as teams and organizers strive to maintain the integrity of the sport.
