Shoaib Akhtar’s one-line reaction on Pakistan’s early T20 World Cup exit speaks a thousand words

Shoaib Akhtar’s one-line reaction on Pakistan’s early T20 World Cup exit speaks a thousand words

After Pakistan cricket team's exit from T20 World Cup, the blame game has already started, but Shoaib Akhtar has come up with a one-line response.

As the IRE vs USA match in Lauderhill, Florida was washed out on Friday, it paved the way for Pakistan’s early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024. Prior to that match, the equation was simple for the Babar Azam & team, who needed Ireland to win against USA, and then had to beat Ireland in their match on June 16. But of course, that did not happen, and as a result, Pakistan cricket team has been ousted in the first round itself.

Shoaib Akhtar’s Reaction Goes Viral

Former Pakistan speedster, Shoaib Akhtar has been one of the most-heard critiques of the team, and has usually been spot on with his analysis, in a rather fiery manner. But after Pakistan’s exit, he took a different route to talk about his team, who failed miserably in the tournament. On X, he posted a tweet that read, “Pakistan’s World Cup journey is over.”

While one would have expected a harsh reaction from Akhtar, but he stuck to a classy one-liner, that was enough to portray Pakistan’s dismal performance.

The team started their campaign with a super over loss against hosts USA, and followed that up with a five-run defeat vs the Indians. They tried to bring their campaign back on track with a solid win over Canada, but that wasn’t enough to save them. Pakistan had been in poor form in the run up to the T20 World Cup, having lost to New Zealand ‘B’ team, and a T20I against Ireland as well.
