Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube is going through a purple patch in his cricketing career. Days after scoring a gritty century for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh, Dube has been rewarded with the role of vice-captain for his domestic side.
Mumbai will travel to Kolkata for Ranji match against Bengal, set to be played from 2nd to 5th February 2024 at Eden Gardens.
Dube was promoted Ajinkya Rahane’s deputy as Shams Mulani’s will play for India ‘A’ in the fourth unofficial Test against England.
“He has performed very well and proved his worth for both India and Mumbai this season. This is a step forward for Mumbai cricket,” Mumbai chief selector Raju Kulkarni was quoted as saying to TOI.

Meanwhile, skipper Rahane, who suffered a Grade 1 tear on his hamstring during the match against UP has been included in the squad in hopes of him recovering in time for the match.
All-rounder Suryansh Shedge has received a Ranji Trophy call-up after a brilliant outing in U-23 games.
Shedge slammed a blazing 168 off just 133 balls in Mumbai’s first innings against Haryana in their ongoing U-23 Col CK Nayudu match.
