Shivam Dube repaid the trust shown in him by the CSK management with a stroke half-century at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday. Walking into bat after the fall of Ajinky Rahane, Dube stitched a vital partnership with the well set Devon Conway to take the RCB attack to the cleaners.
Such was Dube’s efficiency, he scored most of the runs when the dup brought out their fifty-run partnership. The all-rounder scored 52 off 27 balls with five sixes and two boundaries in a stunning display of power hitting. The highlight of his innings was a 111m monster hit off Harshal Patel.
Dube’s hit is the second-longest six of IPL 2023. Faf du Plessis occupies the top spot with a 115m six against the Lucknow Super Giants. In his last three innings against RCB, Dube has scored 193 runs at a strike rate of 183. He has remained unbeaten twice in these three outings.
