Shivam Dube answers ‘impact player’ criticism with first-ball wicket in 5th T20I

Shivam Dube came and picked up wickets, answering all the questions that England had about Dube the bowler!

It looks like the Three Lions now very much know Shivam Dube’s bowling prowess as well, which they couldn’t see in the last game. Dube dismissed the dangerous Phil Salt and completely turned the 5th T20I game in India’s favour. In the last T20I in Pune, it was Harshit Rana who came in as a concussion substitute for Shivam Dube, after Dube took a hit on his helmet from Overton and walked off owing to concussion.

Rana, who replaced him, took three wickets and became the hero of the match, which maybe didn’t sit well with the Three Lion skipper, and that’s why Jos Buttler said at the post-match conference, ‘We don’t agree with concussion substitutes. It’s not a like-for-like replacement.’ Also, at today’s toss, he didn’t forget to take a cheeky jab at what happened in the last game.

But today, Shivam Dube became the talk of the town. First, he played an impactful innings for India, where we saw how Abhishek Sharma thumped every bowler. On the other hand, Dube also made a strong contribution with the bat, helping India post a giant 247 runs. Then, with the ball, he took 2 wickets, proving how complete an all-rounder he is.
