The 38-year-old veteran India opener Shikhar Dhawan shone with the bat once again, in the DY Patil T20 Cup, for his team DY Patil Blue, as they beat RBI by nine wickets on Friday. The southpaw smashed 45 not out from 29 deliveries, as his team chased down the 113-run target in only 10.5 overs.
It wasn’t just Dhawan, but Dinesh Karthik as well, who also played a blistering knock for DY Patil. The RCB player scored 36 from 21 balls, to take the team to the victory. Meanwhile, earlier in the day, RBI were bundled out for 112, courtesy of Pariskshit Valsangkar (4-15) and Karsh Kothari (3-12).
Shikhar Dhawan in Good Form Before IPL 2024
Upon his return to competitive cricket after a few months, Dhawan is looking in sound form before the IPL 2024. In his first match at the DY Patil Cup, he scored 28-ball 39, but DY Patil Blue eventually lost to Tata Sports Club by one run.
In that match, while chasing 186, DY Patil Blue were restricted to 184, despite a solid opening stand of 64 between Dhawan and Abhijit Tomar in 7.1 overs.
