With ODI World Cup coming up in October, Dhawan will have the opportunity to perform on the big stage in front of fans. However the major question remains whether selectors will provide him the opportunity given that Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill are banging selectors door with strong performances.

Shikhar Dhawan was once India’s premier batsman in the limited overs cricket. However things have have gone downwards in terms of form leading to him not being a permanent fixture. After being snubbed for Sri Lanka series, Dhawan posted a video of himself doing batting practice with an emotional caption in Punjabi.

“It is not about winning or losing, it is all about your guts. Keep working hard and leave the rest in the hands of God,” Dhawan had written in the caption in Punjabi. However, the left hander later deleted the post.
However the door is still not shut for the veteran batsman. There are still couple of series likely to be played before the World Cup final squad is announced. The left hander would need just one final opportunity to silence his critics and earn his place for the World Cup.
