Star India opener Shikhar Dhawan has announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket. ‘Gabbar’ took to social media platform X on Saturday morning to inform his fans that he was retiring from all formats of the game. Dhawan, who is Punjab Kings captain in IPL, thanked his coaches and teammates as he bid adieu to the game.

In a video, an emotional Dhawan says that it was his dream come true to play for India and that now it was time for him to move on. He thanked his family, childhood coaches, the BCCI and the DDCA for their support.
A veteran across all formats of the game, Shikhar Dhawan was easily one of the best openers India had produced. The duo of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have terrorized the opposition bowlers with their hand-in-hand chemistry in the middle.
