Former England skipper David Llyod has called out Ravindra Jadeja for running out debutant Sarfaraz Khan in IND vs ENG 3rd Test at Rajkot. Khan was forced to walk back to the pavilion after a mix-up in the middle with the all-rounder.
Llyod calls out Jadeja for running out Sarfaraz Khan
Speaking to talkSPORT Cricket, Llyod opines that there was a lack of understanding about running between the wickets between the duo. He says that a ‘sharp’ Jadeja ultimately trapped ‘chunky’ Sarfaraz, forcing him to halt his sizzling innings.
“You could see. They were at sixes and sevens, Jadeja and Sarfaraz as to what is a run and what isn’t. Jadeja is sharp; the young kid isn’t. He’s a chunky little lad, and they just struggled running between the wicket together. Jadeja is on 99, and he sells Sarfaraz down the river. He sets off, says yes-no, and he is stranded. Then Mark Wood’s got to do the job,” Lloyd said on talkSPORT Cricket.
Stuck on 99, Jadeja called Sarfaraz Khan for a quick single. The debutant ran immediately but was sent back by the all-rounder. The mix-up saw the debutant get run out after getting his maiden half-century.
Sarfaraz, who had come out to bat after skipper Rohit was dismissed for 131, was batting like a dream. From the moment he stepped into the middle, he left everyone in awe with his confidence and stroke play.
