Mumbai cricket team all-rounder Shardul Thakur is on course to making his comeback to the side after being on the sidelines for four months. The all-rounder underwent an ankle surgery on June 12 and seems to have recovered from his injury. If all goes well, Thakur will be back in Mumbai’s side for the Irani Cup clash against Rest of India in October.

As per Times of India, Shardul Thakur played a match for Mumbai against KSCA Secretary’s XI in Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament in Bengaluru. The all-rounder did not enjoy a great outing, having gotten out for a duck and conceding 29 runs from 8 overs with the ball. However, it comes as good news for Mumbai as Shardul is finally back in action.

Shardul Thakur’s all-round heroics in the finals of the domestic tournament propelled Mumbai to the Ranji Trophy title earlier this year. The all-rounder finished the Ranji season with 255 runs and 16 wickets to his name. He last participated in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) following which he underwent a surgery. The Irani Cup tie between Mumbai and Rest of India will take place in Lucknow between October 1 and October 5.
