Shardul Thakur has been discharged from the hospital after he was admitted on Wednesday due to high fever amid the Irani Cup

Mumbai all-rounder Shardul Thakur has reportedly been discharged from the hospital after being admitted earlier on Wednesday. Thakur was rushed to a local hospital after Day 2 of the Irani Cup tie against Rest of India (ROI) after he developed a high fever. The Mumbai star returned to competitive cricket in the ongoing tournament after being on the sidelines following an ankle surgery.

Shardul Thakur unlikely to take field on Day 3 of Irani Cup

As per The Hindu, Mumbai team managed Bhushan Patil confirmed that Shardul Thakur was discharged from the hospital at around the start of play on Day 3. The report further stated that no major ailments were discovered in the blood samples of the all-rounder that were collected earlier. The report added that Shardul Thakur might join the team’s dressing room near the end of day’s play on Thursday.

Shardul Thakur’s fever aggrevated from being mild on Day 1 to high on Day 2 after he batted for a couple of hours in the middle along with Sarfaraz Khan. The all-rounder managed to score 36 runs off 59 deliveries. He was kept under observation during the course of night on Wednesday following which he was discharged the next day.

He was not feeling well for the entire day and was running on high fever, which was the main reason he came out to bat late. He was feeling weak and he slept in the dressing room after taking medicine. But he wanted to bat despite feeling low,” a source had told The Indian Express earlier.
