Shardul, Southee out as KKR announce retained players list ahead of IPL Auction

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises on Sunday (November 26) announced the list of players retained and released after the IPL 2024 retention deadline ended. On the expected lines, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) also made some noise ahead of the mini auction which is set to take place on December 19. KKR have let go of bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur as well as Tim Southee and Narayan Jagadeesan. With that, KKR will go into the IPL 2024 Auction with Rs 32.7 Crore in purse.

Apart from Thakur news, KKR have also let go of Lockie Ferguson, Mandeep Singh, and David Weise ahead of the retention deadline. Southee had a mixed outing and was in & out of the squad. Mandeep Singh failed to win the trust of KKR coach Chandrakant Pandit, & David Weise and Lockie Ferguson did not get enough chances due to team combinations.
