The Player of the Tournament, also known as the Most Valuable Player award, is given to the player who has had the greatest impact on their team’s success over the course of the season. In the IPL’s debut season, Shane Watson of the Rajasthan Royals earned this prestigious accolade for his outstanding performance, scoring 472 runs and taking 17 wickets, which played a crucial role in his team’s championship victory. Player of tournament in IPL 2024

The Player of the Tournament for IPL 2024 was Sunil Narine of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). This marked his third time receiving the prestigious award, having previously won it in 2012 and 2018. Narine’s all-round brilliance was instrumental in KKR’s successful campaign, culminating in their third IPL title.

Promoted to the top of the batting order, Narine showcased his versatility by scoring 488 runs in 15 matches at an impressive strike rate of 180.74. His aggressive approach often set the tone for KKR’s innings, and he even notched up his maiden IPL century against the Rajasthan Royals. With the ball, Narine was equally impactful, claiming 17 wickets at an average of 21.64 and maintaining a remarkable economy rate of 6.69.
