Legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne departed for heavenly abode on 4th March whilst being on a vacation at Thailand’s Koh Samui, owing to suspected cardiac arrest. He was farewelled privately by his family and a group of very close friends, but the state memorial service will allow thousands of Warne fans to celebrate the life and times of one of the greatest players to have ever graced this sport.

The authorities have confirmed that it will be a two-hour long event, with up to 65,000 tickets up for grabs. Plenty of superstars will attend the event as they bid a last farewell to the legend. Renowned singers Ed Sheeran, Elton John and Robbie Williams are set to perform at the event, while Chris Martin, the frontman of Coldplay band, will perform in a tribute video.

Australian TV presented Eddie McGuire has been confirmed as the master of ceremonies for the event. “Tomorrow night is going to be something spectacular. This is going to be one of the greatest events in the history of this city,” McGuire said about the event, per quotes in The West Australian.

The event is set to begin at 7 PM local time with tributes from Shane’s father Keith Warne, while the leg-spinners three children will also be present at the event. On the cricketing aspect, the likes of Brain Lara, Wasim Akram, David Warner and Nasser Hussain have confirmed that they will attend the service.
