Warne departed for heavenly abode on 4th March whilst being on a vacation in Thailand’s Koh Samui. Thai Police, who were investing the death from all angles, have now confirmed that according to the autopsy reports, the 52-year-old died of natural causes.

In a statement, Thailand’s national police spokesperson Kisana Phathanacharoen said “Today investigators received the autopsy result, in which the medical opinion is that the cause of death is natural. Investigators will summarize the autopsy result for the prosecutors within the timeframe of the law.” He also stated that the former cricketer’s family will be handed the body through the Australian consular officials, and that they have been informed about the results of the autopsy.

Warne, who reportedly had heart issues, was found unresponsive in his room at the Samajuna Villas Resort on Friday. The legendary cricketer was announced dead after showing no response to CPR. Previously, the Thai Police had stated that “A large amount of blood was found in the room. When CPR was started, the deceased had coughed up liquid and was bleeding.”
