India Cricket Team’s star pacer Mohammed Shami has begun his preparation for the India vs South Africa (IND vs SA) series. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has given hope that the ace speedster will recover in time and be ready for the IND vs SA Test series. Shami is expected to report to the NCA and when he gets a fitness clearance, he will travel to South Africa.
“Shami should be ready for the South Africa series. He is not at the NCA yet but will go there soon. We are confident he will recover in time,” Jay Shah said.
Shami’s inclusion in the India Cricket Team for the Test series is of utmost importance. With World Test Championship (WTC) Points at stake, Team India is expected to go full throttle at the Proteas. As Shami continues to recover from his injury, he is expected to travel to NCA next week.
“Shami will report to the NCA for an injury assessment before travelling to South Africa. It’s quite normal for pacers and all-rounders before travelling on away tours. His condition is not very serious and he is managing it,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport on Monday.
Preparations Continue for Shami
Despite being in India and injured, Shami has been managing and recovering from his injury at a fast rate. The ace bowler took to his social media handle to post a video of him batting against spinners. This is crucial for Shami, not only is he improving his batting skills, but his nifty footwork shows that his knee injury is well under control.
Furthermore, the way Shami has tackled the local spinner lads, he goes on to replicate the same against Keshav Maharaj, then India will be able to amass quite a few runs from the tailenders.
