West Indies pace sensation Shamar Joseph received a hero’s welcome as he returned to Guyana following the side’s historic victory in the AUS vs WI series. Joseph, who made his Test debut in the series, was undoubtedly the breakout star for the Men in Maroon. The Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Guyana live streamed the whole event of Joseph returning home amid the fanfare at the airport.

Joseph was struck on his toe by a yorker from Mitchell Starc near the end of play on Day 3. With his toe burst open, Shamar had to retire hurt. However, he returned the very next day as he steamrolled through Australia’s line-up.
West Indies clinched a nail-biting win at the Gabba in the AUS vs WI 2nd Test after Joseph starred with the ball yet again. This victory marked the Windies’ first victory on Australian soil in 27 years as they leveled the two-match series 1-1.
