Shakib al Hasan to skip practice in Bangladesh, land directly in India for IND vs BAN Tests

Shakib al Hasan, who is currently playing for Surrey in County, will land directly in India for IND vs BAN series and will skip practice in Bangladesh

Bangladesh cricket team all-rounder Shakib al Hasan will reportedly arrive in India directly from England for the IND vs BAN Test series. Following the conclusion of the historic PAK vs BAN series victory, Shakib is now in England playing the County Championships. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Nazmul Abedin confirmed that Shakib would indeed be a part of IND vs BAN series and that there was no injury that the board was aware of so far.

Shakib al Hasan to directly land in India for IND vs BAN series

As per Cricbuzz, the BCB director confirmed that Shakib al Hasan will not be a part of the training camp that will get underway for the Test players in Dhaka from September 9. The IND vs BAN series is scheduled to start from September 19 onwards. Hasan is currently playing for Surrey in the County.

Shakib will come to India from England to play. For now we know this much and we want to keep it that way,” he said.

“There is no injury problem as far as I know. Hopefully the whole team will be available. Shakib has gone to play County and I am hoping everyone else will be available. From September 9, the whole team is expected to practice in full swing,” he added.

There was uncertainty over Shakib al Hasan’s participation in the PAK vs BAN 2nd Test as well after the all-rounder was charged for murder along with ex-PM Sheikh Hasina and others. However, BCB confirmed that Hasan would continue to play for the team and went on be a part of the historic series win.

India will host Bangladesh for a two-match series. The matches will be played in Chennai and Kanpur. Bangladesh will depend on Shakib’s experience and all-round ability to counter a dominant India.
