Shakib al Hasan slaps fan during Bangladesh election campaign

Shakib had joined politics last year.

Cricketer-turned-politician Shakib al Hasan is making the news, but for the wrong reasons. After an unsuccessful ODI World Cup 2023 campaign, the former Bangladesh skipper has decided to change his career. However, controversy continues to follow Shakib, whether it be on the cricket field or off it.

Known for his short temper, Shakib al Hasan has been in altercations with umpires and even fellow players in his 17-year-long cricket career. The all-rounder is most famous for his outbursts in the Bangladesh Premier League. From throwing or kicking the stumps in anger to challenging the umpire on a wide call, he’s done it all.

However, that has taken a turn for the worse. During his campaign for the Awami League during the Bangladesh General Elections, the star cricketer turned politician slapped a fan while being mobbed by people.
