Bangladesh cricket team star Shakib al Hasan has claimed that he would not be traveling to Dhaka for the BAN vs SA Test series. The 1st Test at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium was set to be the veteran’s farewell Test as he had informed before the IND vs NZ 2nd Test. However, despite being named in the squad for the game, Hasan has claimed that he will not travel to Dhaka.

As per ESPNCricinfo, Shakib al Hasan stated that he will not travel to the Bangladesh capital ahead of the BAN vs SA series. The all-rounder’s statement casts aspersions on his participation in what would be his final red-ball game for Bangladesh. Both the Sports Advisor to the interim government and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had assured highest-level of security and support for Shakib to play his final Test at home in front of the fans, previously.
