Shahid Afridi picks one bowler who holds key for Pakistan against Australia

Shaheen Afridi is Pakistan’s best pacer across formats and has picked 105 wickets in 27 Tests so far.

Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi is in the news again, as this time he picked one bowler, who would be of much significance in the series against Australia. Pakistan begin their tour with the first Test in Perth on December 14, and Shahid feels Shaheen Afridi will be the bowler to watch out for.

“Shaheen Afridi’s bowling spells will be extremely important in Pakistan vs Australia. He possesses the skills to trouble any batter in the world. Bowling in Australian conditions will be a good learning experience for him, and I believe he will play a crucial role in the series,” Shahid was quoted as saying by Cricket Australia.

But then it will not be easy for Pakistan to overcome the Aussies at their home, and Shahid very well knows that. “Aussies are traditionally strong, both mentally and physically. They are a very formidable side in their own conditions and facing them is always a challenge.

“They have a very strong batting order, and I expect a good contest during the Benaud Qadir Trophy. The series will undoubtedly be a test of skills and resilience,” he added.

Pakistan vs Australia Schedule

1st Test: December 14-18, Perth

2nd Test: December 26-30, Melbourne

3rd Test: January 3-7, Sydney
