Indian pacer Mohammed Shami continued his dream run in the ongoing Cricket World Cup with another stunning bowling display in IND vs NZ semi-final match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The pacer was tied with Australa’s Mitchell Starc who picked three fifers – two in the 2019 and one in 2015 edition of the World Cup.
Shami also became the first bowler to pick three five-fers in a single edition of World Cup.
Mohammed Shami also surpassed Australia’s Adam Zampa to become the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing tournament.

Was waiting for my turn: Mohammed Shami
After the game, Shami opened up about his magic run in the World Cup and said that he was “waiting for his turn”. Notably, Shami didn’t play India’s first four games in the tournament.
“I was waiting for my turn. I wasn’t playing much white ball cricket. I had in mind, we talk about a lot of things like yorkers and slower balls. I tried to take wickets with the new ball. I try to take as many as I can with the new ball”, Shami said in post-match presentation.
Team India will now play the winner of AUS vs SA semi-final at Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19.
