Although, in the first PAK vs IRE T20I Afridi scalped only one wicket while conceding 26 runs in 4 overs with an economy of 6.50, his inconsistency is set to pose some struggles for Babar Azam and co. In the second Afridi took three wickets while conceding 49 runs with an economy of 12. 25, his highest registered so far. Earlier he had gone up to 11.70 back in January, thus sparking quite some worries ahead of the squad announcement.

Shaheen Afridi scalps 300 wickets across all formats
While Afridi’s economy rate of 12.25 in the PAK vs IRE second T20 raises a few questions, the 24-year-old has now taken 300 wickets in international cricket after dismissing Irish skipper Paul Stirling. He is also the fifth-youngest bowler to reach the milestone. With a fantastic 145-match career, he has 113 wickets in Test cricket, 104 in ODIs, and an outstanding 84 in T20Is.
