Shaheen Afridi presented with Memento after completing 100 Test Wickets

Shaheen Afridi is the 19th Pakistani pacer to scalp 100 Test wickets. He completed the feat against Sri Lanka at Galle.

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi was simply magnificent against Sri Lanka at Day 1 of the first Test being played in Galle. He scalped three quick wickets to blow away Lanka’s top order. With these three wickets, the left-arm pacer also completed his long pending 100 Test wickets milestone. After the end of play, Afridi was presented with a memento by senior batter Mohammad Rizwan as rest of the dressing room lauded the pacer for his effort.

Shaheen scalped 3/63 on Day 1 against Sri Lanka

Shaheen is the 19th Pakistani pacer to achieve this feat. He is also the fourth fastest amongst pace bowlers from his nation to achieve the 100-wicket milestone.

Speaking about the match, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat however the decision didn’t end up well as Afridi’s sensational spell got the batters tumbling. For the home team, Angelo Mathews (64) and Dhananjaya de Silva (94*) led the rescue and bailed their team out of a tricky situation.

After the wicket of Mathews, Sadeera Samarawickrama (36) supported De Silva quite well. However, he was dismissed due to some brilliance by Imam-ul-Haq who grabbed a stunner right at the end of the day. At Stumps on Day 1, Sri Lanka score reads 242/6. For Pakistan, except Shaheen, Naseem Shah, Abrar Ahmed, and Agha Salman picked one wicket each.
