In a recent development, Shah Khawar, who previously held the position of election commissioner in the Cricket Board, has assumed the role of acting chairman of the PCB, This transition follows the resignation of Zaka Ashraf as the PCB chairman, leading to the appointment of Mohsin Naqvi as the interim head by caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.
Starting tomorrow (Wednesday), senior lawyer Shah Khawar is set to officially take charge and will continue in the role until the upcoming Board elections. Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi, the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, will fulfill his duties as a governing body member of the PCB during this period.
It’s noteworthy that Shah Khawar, in his capacity as the Election Commissioner PCB, will oversee the impending Cricket Board elections, while Mohsin Naqvi is slated to participate as a candidate for the position of Chairman PCB.
Earlier this week, in response to Zaka Ashraf’s resignation, the caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar had designated Mohsin Naqvi as the interim Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
