India Women beat South Africa Women in 3rd T20I by 9 wickets: Aided by a brilliant 60 off just 30 balls from Shafali Verma, the Indian women’s team registered a consolation win in the 3rd T20I against South Africa by 9 wickets.
After losing the first two matches, and thereby the series, Indian Women salvaged some pride with an impressive performance in the final game. Chasing a modest target of 113, the Indian openers Shafali and Smriti Mandhana played brilliantly to ensure an easy victory.
Mandhana remained not out on 48 off just 28 balls while Verma notched up a half-century.
Earlier in the day, Indian eves produced a stellar bowling performance to restrict South Africa to a below-par total of 112/7 in 20 overs. Rajeshwari Gayakwad was the pick of the bowlers as she scalped three wickets and ended with impressive figures of 3/9 in her quota of four overs.
