Renowned Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, who has played many critically acclaimed roles in films such as Pink and Thappad, is playing the role of the inspiration skipper of the Indian women’s cricket team, as the film will portray the journey of the women in blue under the leadership of Mithali Raj.

Taapsee revealed the release date on her Instagram account, where she said “There is nothing more powerful than a girl with a dream and a plan to realise it! This is a story of one such girl who chased her dream with a bat in this “Gentleman’s Game” #ShabaashMithu The Unheard Story Of Women In Blue will be in cinemas on 15th July 2022.”

The teaser of the film was released in 21st March, were some incredible records of Mithali Raj were highlighted. She happens to be the only Indian cricketer to score seven consecutive half-centuries in ODI cricket, only captain to lead the Indian team in four World Cups and the youngest Indian cricketer to hit a double-century in Test cricket.

The film is directed by Rahul Dholakia and Priya Aven. Besides Pannu, renowned actor Vijay Raaz is also playing an important character in this film, and given the recent success of sports biopics, the makers of this film are expecting it to be a grand success.
