Already down in the dumps, the Delhi Capitals (DC) have suffered a major blow. Their star all-rounder, Mitchell Marsh, has been ruled out of the MI vs DC match. The Australian was DC’s highest wicket-taker last season and played an important role for the franchise in Rishabh Pant’s absence.
A day before the match in Mumbai, DC Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly, when asked about his fitness and availability for the away match, said, “Mitchell Marsh is injured.”

Who’ll replace the injured Mitchell Marsh?
With Marsh out, the Delhi Capitals have only three more foreign players who can replace him. However, none of these three are all-rounders. This means that they might have to make space for an Indian player as well. Jake Fraser-McGurk, Jhye Richardson, and Shai Hope are the three overseas players they have.
Hope plays in the middle order and has not impressed in the single match he’s played so far. Fraser-McGurk is an opener, and with the Warner-Shaw pair already set, he might not find a place in the eleven. Their last option, Jhye Richardson, may be the best. The fast bowler has good speed and is seen as one of the most talented bowlers in Australia.
However, to get him into the lineup, they’ll have to bring in a batter to balance their XI. With Marsh gone, Rishabh Pant might be forced to make a couple of changes in the MI vs DC match.
