SERVICES beat KERALA- Rajat Paliwal-led Services turned it around against the Sanju Samson-led Kerala in the fourth quarterfinal at the KL Saini Ground in Jaipur. Services beat Kerala by seven wickets to book a semifinal clash against Himachal Pradesh. Rajat Paliwal got probably everything right starting with the toss. They bowled out Kerala for a mere 175 and then chased down the total comfortably. Follow Vijay Hazare live updates on InsideSport. Comments in moderatioIN.

Half-centuries from Ravi Chauhan and captain Rajat Paliwal helped Services register an easy win over a much-better placed Kerala. Chauhan fell prey to Sijomon Joseph and also could not complete his century. However, his innings helped Services win the game with 19 overs to spare.

Services’ captain’s decision to bowl first was also proved right by Diwesh Gurdev Pathania as he removed Mohammad Azharuddeen and Jalaj Saxena off consecutive deliveries. Kerala recovered from the blows courtesy of an 81-run stand between Rohan Kunnummal and Vinoop Manoharan. However, Pulkit Narang’s brace just added to Kerala’s troubles. Divesh Gurdev took three wickets for Services while Abhishek and Pulkit Narang took a brace each.

Sanju Samson and Robin Uthappa may be the stars but Kerala possess some of the best domestic limited-overs players. The likes of Vishnu Vinod, Mohammed Azharuddeen have a chance to prove their mettle and impress IPL scouts ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction when they face Services in the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinals at the KL Saini Ground in Jaipur Wednesday.
