Selectors should keep an eye: Rahul Tewatia claims praise from Sunil Gavaskar after power hitting

GT vs MI: Rahul Tewatia claims high praise from Sunil Gavaskar after power hitting against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024

Rahul Tewatia yet again came to the rescue of his side Gujarat Titans. Albeit a cameo, but his hard hitting gameplay drew praise from Sunil Gavaskar. Often deemed as a designated finisher, Tewatia put up a brilliant show to help his side put up a decent total on the board for MI to chase.

Gujarat Titans needed someone to don the role of an enforcer. And Rahul Tewatia executed it to near perfection. He scored a fine knock of 22 runs from 15 balls. Not over aggressive, Tewatia hammered the poor balls to hit a solitary sixer and 2 fours.

India Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar was highly impressed with Tewatia’s batting. This promoted him to say during commentary that “Selectors should keep an eye on Tewatia with T20 World Cup coming up.”

The India Cricket Team‘s utmost priority now is selecting an able squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. A lot will depend on how the players perform in IPL 2024. But with the tournament drawing close, the selectors are keeping a keen eye on the performance of the players.

One such name is Rahul Tewatia. Already established as a known finisher, should the southpaw get a chance he can light up the T20 World Cup for the Men in Blue.
