Indian cricket’s rising star, Richa Ghosh, has had to hit the brakes on her international career for a bit. Why? School! Yes, the 21-year-old wicketkeeper-batter is sitting her 12th standard exams and has had to skip the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. Well, education still remains the biggest priority even if you are an international cricketer.
Richa Ghosh misses due to exams!
Richa Ghosh, the current Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Women’s team star, had an ordinary Women’s T20 World Cup campaign. During India’s group-stage exit, Ghosh contributed to only 19 runs. She would’ve hoped to get her form back but her exams have come up at the wrong time! Regardless, this news just goes to show that she is a prodigy, having already played an ODI World Cup and three T20 World Cups. She is also an Under-19 T20 World Cup (2023).
The three-match ODI series against New Zealand is scheduled to be played on October 24, 27, and 29 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This series will be a crucial opportunity for the Indian team to bounce back from their early exit in the T20 World Cup and regain momentum before next year’s ODI World Cup in India.
