Sarfaraz Khan or Rajat Patidar? Harbhajan Singh picks India XI for IND vs ENG 2nd Test

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has picked his XI for the IND vs ENG 2nd Test, starting on February 2 in Visakhapatnam.

With Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul ruled out of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test, starting on February 2 in Visakhapatnam, the team management will be forced to include either Sarfaraz Khan or Rajat Patidar to fill the gap.

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has backed Sarfaraz Khan over Rajat Patidar for the Vizag Test.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan picked Sarafarz at number 5 and said the youngster should play considering his recent form in domestic cricket.

“I think Sarfaraz should play. He has been scoring lot of runs in domestic cricket. He performed well in the games against England Lions as well”, Harbhajan said on his YouTube channel.

Despite poor run of form, Bhajji backed Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer for number 3 and 4 spot, respectively.

“[Shubman] Gill and [Shreyas] Iyer haven’t score much runs in last 10 innings. A lot is expected from them and hopefully, they will perform. With KL [Rahul] not in team, the responsibility is now even more on these two“, former India spinner added.

The former Indian spinner also opined that India should go with four spinners – Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar – and have one lone pacer in the form of Jasprit Bumrah.

“The pitch is likely to turn and if it is worse than Hyderabad, then we might see spin more and only [Jasprit] Bumrah might play as pacer”, Harbhajan added.
