Sarfaraz Khan made his Test debut and earned himself a BCCI central contract but failed to get an IPL contract for the 2024 season. Despite playing for six seasons and three different teams in the past, the batter failed to find a home in the December auction last year.
Although disappointed, Sarfaraz Khan has decided to go back to the drawing board with the upcoming Test series against New Zealand and Bangladesh in mind. To get back into his groove, he has decided to go back to his ‘old school’ ways and practice with his father in the nets.
Sarfaraz Khan trains with his first coach
His father, Naushad Khan, was his first coach, and what better way to prepare for the challenges that await him later this year than by going back to where it all began and starting from scratch?
The 26-year-old livestreamed his practice with his father on his Instagram account, where his father is doing the traditional throwdowns in the nets. One can see both Sarfaraz and Naushad’s will to get better, as they continue to train even at night.

KKR: The new home that wasn’t to be for Sarfaraz Khan
After making a mark in the India vs England 3rd Test, reports started to emerge that the Kolkata Knight Riders might sign the batter to bolster their batting. According to Bengali daily Anandabazar Patrika, KKR’s new mentor, Gautam Gambhir, was interested in adding the right-handed batter to their squad for the IPL 2024.
However, the report turned out to be just a rumor, and Sarfaraz failed to find a new IPL home after failing to perform for the Delhi Capitals in the 2023 season.
