As Pakistan Cricket Team prepares to face Australia in Boxing Day Test match, the chances of Sarfaraz Ahmed featuring starts to diminish. Fans were shocked when Sarfaraz got the nod ahead of Mohammad Rizwan in the PAK vs AUS 1st Test in Perth. But now the chances are glim for Sarfaraz to retain his spot for the Melbourne Test.
Mohammad Rizwan slammed a fine fifty before retiring in Day 1 of the a quick practice match against Victoria XI while Sarfaraz managed to score 35 at run a ball. Pakistan declared their innings by clocking a mighty total of 323-8 in 78.4 overs.
In reply, Victoria XI gave a strong reply of 272-4 from just 59 overs. Pakistan came to bat again and ended the match with a score of 57-2. Sarfaraz Ahmed managed to score mere 10 runs before returning back to the pavilion.
A cumulative of 7 runs combined in both innings of Perth Test followed by some poor runs in the practice game against Victoria XI means it is almost curtains for Sarfaraz in PAK vs AUS 2nd Test. The Men in Green will be keen to bring back their power hitter Mohammad Rizwan for the Melbourne Test.
Pakistan will look to settle matters straight when they face the hosts again. In the first Test it was Australia who humiliated the visitors and clinched a 1-0 lead by winning the game by 360 runs.
