According to Sapna Gill, Shaw is close friends with powerful individuals and accusations against her are false and vexatious. She further claimed that the complainant had falsely accused her in the current FIR on Shaw’s orders in order to carry out his “personal vengeance,” “harass and trap Gill,” and misuse the criminal justice system to promote the scheme.

Gill requests in her appeal that the cops be told not to report anything about her. The plea also demands that the court should direct disciplinary proceedings against the investigating officer, Prasad Ingavale, senior police inspector of Oshiwara police station, Manohar Dhanawade, and an officer from the airport police station, Satish Kawankar.

Earlier, five persons were detained by the Oshiwara police station for abusing and attacking Prithvi Shaw on February 15. Shaw and his friends were having dinner at a hotel in Mumbai when Sapna Gill and her friend Shobhit Thakur, after taking a few selfies with him, began to harass him for more photographs. When Prithvi Shaw refused to pose for more selfies, the two allegedly misbehaved with him.

After that, when Prithvi Shaw and his friend were leaving the hotel at 4 am, Sapna Gill along with others abused Shaw and his friend. One of the accused broke the rear windshield of Prithvi Shaw’s car with a bat.

Following the incident, Sapna Gill is accused of threatening Prithvi Shaw with a false complaint and demanding Rs 50,000 in exchange for her retraction. Post this, FIR was filed against Sapna Gill, Shobihit Thakur, and others for rioting, extortion, and criminal intimidation.

On the other hand, Sapna Gill also filed a counter-complaint at the airport police station. Accusing Prithvi Shaw and his friends of insulting her modesty. The airport police had taken her testimony on February 25. But they later informed her that because the incident happened outside of their area, no FIR could be filed.
