Sanju Samson’s run-slump continues, Kerala skipper fails to make mark in Ranji Trophy game against Mumbai

Sanju Samson falters for Kerala in Ranji Trophy clash vs Mumbai, lean patch continues for RR skipper

Sanju Samson had an eventful match in the IND vs AFG 3rd T20I. The Kerala skipper departed for a golden duck on the only opportunity that he got in the entire series. 2 days later Sanju Samson was back in the Kerala Ranji Team to play against Mumbai. However, runs continued to elude him as he was dismissed for a mere 38 run knock.

Sanju Samson batted with a brisk pace, scoring 38 from 36 balls, slamming 5 fours in the process. But the Rajasthan Royals skipper will have to step up his A game if he wants to feature in the India Squad for the T20 World Cup.

While India will face England in the IND vs ENG Test series, the players will to focus on IPL. The Indian Premier League (IPL) will play a crucial role in the selection of the players for the T20 Squad.

A stunning performance for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL will work wonders for Sanju Samson. While there is uncertainty over the availability of Ishan Kishan, it is Jitesh Sharma who leads the race for the keeper’s spot.

As a result, Sanju Samson will have to play good cricket in the coming months to get the nod ahead of Jitesh Sharma. Samson who has been playing IPL for the years, knows what it takes to perform under pressure.
