The preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 are in full swing with almost all the major stars joining their respective teams’ camps. However, Sanju Samson is yet to enter the battlefield. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) camp is currently going on in Jaipur but the inaugural champions are without their captain so far.
When will Sanju Samson join IPL 2025 camp?
Samson underwent a finger surgery after he sustained a blow on his right index finger during a T20I match against England last month. Currently, the RR skipper is at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, ongoing a rehabbing period. According to MyKhel’s report, Samson will be at the NCA possibly till Sunday (March 16). He is likely to join the Rajasthan camp on the next day, March 17.
“The Kerala player is currently at the NCA in Bengaluru, in the final phase of his recovery, and will arrive at the Rajasthan Royals camp either on Sunday or Monday. A source close to the player told MyKhel that the player has been training at the training facility of BCCI for some time now but will be ready to feature in the IPL,” read MyKhel’s report.
Rajasthan Royals will kickstart their IPL 2025 campaign against tough opponents Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 23 in Hyderabad. This means Samson will be having less than a week to prepare. He is yet to have a proper net session ever since battling a finger surgery. While the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag and Rahul Dravid (despite his injury) have joined the RR camp, the wait for Samson lingers on.
