Sanju Samson has been named as the skipper of Kerala for the first two fixtures of the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2023-24 edition. Rohan Kunummal, the dynamic opener, will serve as his deputy. Kerala is set to take on Uttar Pradesh in their opening match which is set to begin on January 5. After that, Sanju Samson and Co. will take on Assam starting from January 12 onwards.
Fresh from his maiden international century, Samson will be aiming to do good with the bat in the upcoming Ranji Trophy matches. The right-handed batter will also be eyeing a spot in the upcoming IND vs AFG T20I series next year.
As stated above, Samson showed his capabilities with the bat during his scintillating century knock against South Africa in the series decider of the three-match ODI series at Boland Park in Paarl. He played a brilliant knock of 108 runs off 114 balls, including six fours and three sixes, guiding India close to 300 on a challenging batting pitch. Samson’s exceptional performance earned him the well-deserved title of the man of the match.
