Sanju Samson to captain Kerala in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Jalaj Saxena included as guest player

Sanju Samson has been named the captain of Kerala for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which begins from November 22 onwards

Kerala keeper-batter Sanju Samson will lead the side in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which will begin from November 22. Samson has had a mixed run in T20s this year, but has been in red-hot form recently, having scored two back-to-back tons followed by consecutive ducks. Earlier, Sanju was a part of certain Ranji Trophy matches during the break between the Bangladesh and New Zealand series.

Apart from Sanju Samson, the Kerala squad includes veterans like Sachin Baby and Basil Thampi. The squad also includes a guest player – Jalaj Saxena – who recently achieved a rare feat as he became the first player to amass 6000 runs and pick up 400 wickets in the Ranji Trophy. Kerala will take on Services in their first match in SMAT on November 23.
