There are some players who always manage to make the headlines, no matter what. India batsman Sanju Samson is at the top of the list of such players. The Kerala skipper, this time though, failed to live up to the expectations, as his side lost the third round Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai by 232 runs.
This is Kerala’s second loss in three matches, which means they are languishing at the sixth spot in the Ranji Trophy points table, with a score of four. Mumbai, after the win, are at the top of the Elite Group B, with 20 points.
Samson Unimpressive With the Bat
In the first innings, Mumbai posted 251 on the board, with Kerala getting bundled out of 244, and conceding a lead of 7. It was then, Mumbai batted the opposition out of the match, by scoring 319. After being set a target of 327, Kerala innings folded for 94 only.
What was even more disappointing was, Sanju scored only 53 runs in the match. In fact, in the first round match against UP, he managed a scored of 35, thus summing up his poor Ranji season so far.
